Position Details
Performs a variety of non-teaching classroom support and student support services as directed under the supervision of an assigned teacher. This part-time, school year position works Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. hours totaling 29.75/week. This position is located at Lineville Intermediate for Grades 5-6. The hourly rate is $19.00 with opportunity for increased compensation based on a variety of District and/or State requirements and qualifications. Start date is September 1, 2026 but may start earlier based on training and/or building meetings.
- Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for assigned students in all settings (classroom, specials, lunch, recess).
- Deliver direct academic and behavioral support, including reading assistance and assignment help.
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt instruction and meet student needs.
- Monitor student progress and report to teachers, including the child’s case manager or special education teacher
- Assist students with beginning-of-the day check-ins, end-of-day routines, dismissal procedures, and accessing transportation.
- Support students in developing essential skills (e.g., sign language, finger spelling) as needed.
- Facilitate participation in inclusive classroom, recess and lunchroom activities.
- Assist with mobility needs and assistive devices.
- Collaborate with therapists to integrate therapy activities into the daily schedule.
- Manage behavioral breaks and support positive behavior interventions.
- Provide medical monitoring and attention on the shuttle as required.
- Assist with personal hygiene care as trained by a healthcare professional.
- Assist with feeding and follow safe sanitation procedures.
- Supervise non-classroom activities and maintain orderly program areas
- Provide support during unstructured periods (lunch, recess).
- Assist teachers with preparation and classroom management tasks.

Required

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Licensure: Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Special Education Aide License.

Certificates, Certifications, or Other Training: First Aid and CPR Certification. Nonviolent Intervention Training. Medication Administration Certification. Passing grade on Paraeducator Master Teacher assessment if no college degree present.

Previous Work-Related Experience: No prior work experience is necessary.
