Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in students' lives as they prepare for the future? The Darlington Community School District is seeking a full-time High School Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. This rewarding position supports students in grades 9 through 12 across general education classrooms, resource rooms, and specialized special education settings.

successful experience supporting students with a range of academic, behavioral, communication, and functional needs—including those who are nonverbal or have limited verbal abilities

comfort assisting students in both general and special education classrooms, including small group instruction, educational games, literacy activities, testing, special projects, and discussions—all under the direction of certified teachers or service providers

a readiness to facilitate accommodations and modifications, and to support access to specialized services such as physical/occupational therapy, speech/language therapy, and adapted physical education

the ability to assist with daily routines such as recess, lunch, and transitions, as well as specialized transportation if needed
-
willingness to provide personal and medical care for students with additional needs (training provided), including G-tube feeding, toileting, diapering, and continuous health monitoring

a high level of professionalism, ethical behavior, and confidentiality, and
-
flexibility in accepting other instructional-related duties as assigned
