The Unified Sports Advisor is responsible for promoting inclusivity and teamwork by organizing and overseeing Unified Sports activities, which bring together individuals with and without disabilities. This role involves planning and conducting regular practices with Unified athletes, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities include coordinating and running weekly or bi-weekly practice sessions, ensuring all athletes are engaged and supported according to their individual needs and abilities. The advisor will also plan and execute two major Unified Sports events during the school year. These include a Unified Swimming exhibition, held during the break of a boys’ swim meet, and a Unified Basketball game, played during halftime of a boys’ or girls’ varsity basketball game. These events serve to highlight the talents and efforts of Unified athletes while fostering a spirit of inclusion and school-wide support.

The Unified Sports Advisor works collaboratively with athletic staff, administration, and student volunteers to create meaningful experiences that promote inclusion, respect, and the joy of sport for all participants.
