The mission of Union Grove Elementary School is to provide a positive educational environment while embracing diversity and enabling all students to reach their highest potential with the cooperation of parents and the community. The Custodian is responsible for daily cleansing and maintenance of school district facilities and is employed through the Buildings and Grounds Department. Primary duties include cleaning various areas, providing support for other district personnel and ensuring building security. Equipment, chemicals and supplies are provided by the school district. Daily tasks involve mopping, vacuuming, disinfecting, emptying trash containers, cleaning and resupplying restrooms, delivery of various materials and setup and tear down of equipment.

This position is full time, 40 hours a week. Hours are 3pm to 11pm, Monday through Friday

We serve over 900 students starting with Early Childhood programs, 4-K, K through 8th grade. We take pride in providing a safe learning environment for our students and staff.

Excellent people skills and a desire to work with and around children and adults are a must. Basic math and computer skills are required. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. routinely. Requires ability to get from point A to point B on hard and carpeted surfaces. Ability to bend, lift and move boxes, pails and equipment. Will be required to operate powered equipment. Will require some work outdoors to accomplish snow removal, trash pickup and removal and various other outdoor activities.
