$16.95 - $20.75 per hour, dependent on experience
Monday-Friday, 2nd or 3rd shift, 3-4 hours per day
Part Time
The Elkhorn Area School District is seeking a part time Cleaner to work second or third shift, 3-4 hours per day (not to exceed 18 per week), Monday through Friday during the school year. Flexible start and end times are negotiable, but work cannot begin prior to 4:00 p.m. and must be completed by 6:00 a.m.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Under the overall direction of the Supervisor (Buildings, Grounds, & Maintenance), performs necessary duties required to maintain the assigned building to include: general cleaning, tasks required to keep the building, classrooms, & all core areas within the school in good condition & repair
- Takes daily direction from the Head Custodian relating to routine tasks or special projects
- Maintains supplies & equipment as necessary
- Performs all general cleaning & floor maintenance required to maintain a neat & clean building (sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, & polish floors; wash walls, windows, & woodwork; dust, arrange, & move furniture/equipment; clean restrooms & replenish supplies)
- Communicates with Head Custodian & other staff as necessary regarding issues requiring attention
- All other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experienced in the use and minor repair of industrial cleaning equipment (scrubbers, vacuums, industrial floor finishing equipment, etc.)
- Knowledgeable in methods, practices, and products required to clean and maintain buildings
- Ability to perform semi-skilled and unskilled tasks in building maintenance to include general cleaning and floor maintenance
- Excellent inter-personal skills – must be a team player!
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Must have physical ability to do heavy lifting up to 50 lbs. and tolerate extended walking and standing
Candidates who receive a conditional offer of employment with the Elkhorn Area School District must successfully complete a background check, physical and tuberculosis test, and drug screening. Employment is contingent upon verification of work eligibility through E-Verify.
