School Year Role
Part Time

Are you passionate about creating wholesome, delicious meals for kids? Do you love the fast-paced energy of a commercial kitchen, but want a work schedule that lets you enjoy your evenings, weekends, and school holidays?

Franklin Public Schools is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable Cook 2 to join our dedicated Food Services team. In this role, you won't just be serving food—you’ll be providing students with the daily nutrition they need to learn, grow, and thrive.

Why You'll Love Working With Us:

  • No late nights, no weekend shifrts, and paid time off during the school year.
  • Consistent Daytime schedule: reliable scheduling designed around the school day.
  • Be a familiar, welcoming face to hundreds of students every day.
  • Work alongside a collaborative team that values food safety, teamwork and school spirit.
What you'll do:
  • Reheat, portion and assemble batch-prepared menu items according to USDA guidelines.
  • Set up appetizing serving stations, salad bars and grab-and-go counters prior to meal service.
  • Serve students quickly and warmly on the lunch line, ensuring a clean and inviting enviornment.
  • Continiously monitor and record food temperatures and maintain strict sanitation standards
  • Safely operate commercial warming ovens, setamers, and dishwasers. Perform end of day cleaning, dishwashing and kitchen sanitization.
  • Receive, rotate, and restock food supplies using proper inventory management.
