Substitute Health Room Aide - Vacancy ID: 275392

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Assists in the daily tasks of the health room under the direction of the school nurse or health room staff
• Assists with health, injury care, and emergency care for students and staff and provides routine first aid services (temperature, bandages, assists with any student needs)
• Demonstrates the proper use of PPE
• Assists in documentation (records, logs, etc.)
• Understands and follows school policies and participates in required training
• Able to follow procedures in administering medication as needed to students and care plans for students with special needs
• Able to communicate effectively with staff and families and maintain confidentiality in health matters at all times
• Performs other duties as assigned

• General understanding of health room maintenance, dispensing medications, and administering first aid

• Technical skills necessary to effectively utilize technologies
• Proper phone etiquette
• Able to work and concentrate in an environment with frequent interruptions
