Southeast Virtual Academy (SVA) is seeking an innovative, student-centered educator passionate about transforming education through flexible, purpose-driven virtual learning that remains deeply connected to community and future pathways. This role will join a team of design partners and leaders in our inaugural year of SVA.

 

SVA is a new charter school and an instrumentality of both the Wheatland and Westosha Central School Districts, serving students in grades 4-12 through high-quality virtual and hybrid learning pathways. Our model emphasizes strong relationships, personalization, and intentional growth to ensure we truly know each student and align learning to their individual strengths, interests, and future goals.

 

The Student Success Coach & Navigation Specialist plays a critical role in supporting student success through personalized learning, relationship-building, and coordination of services. Ideal candidates value high-impact student relationships, collaborative problem-solving, and believe deeply in every student’s potential.

 

This role is both student-facing and leadership-oriented, supporting daily student learning while contributing to the design, growth, and continuous improvement of SVA’s programs. The position has the potential to evolve and change with the program.

 

● Serve as a Success Coach for SVA students, fostering engagement, accountability, and strong relationships

● Advise students in navigating multiple learning pathways and updating personalized education plans or learning roadmaps

● Provide instructional support and collaborate closely with course instructors

● Coordinate student services, supports, and care across school, family, and community partners

● Build strong, trusting partnerships with families and caregivers

● Contribute as a member of the leadership team to SVA’s design, development, and program growth efforts

● Support continuous improvement aligned to SVA’s mission and vision

 

Candidates must demonstrate the following skills and abilities:

● Strong ability to support students academically, socially, and emotionally through coaching, advising, and relationship-based practices

● Experience working in student-centered, personalized, virtual, or hybrid learning environments, or the demonstrated ability to adapt to these models

● Capacity to serve in a dual, multifaceted role, balancing academic guidance, learning support, and family communication

● Knowledge of instructional practices and learning progress monitoring across diverse learner needs

● Strong organizational skills, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple students, priorities, and timelines

● Effective written and verbal communication skills with students, families, and staff

● Collaborative mindset and ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team

● Commitment to continuous improvement and reflective practice

 

● Belief in learner variability and asset-based, student-centered education

● Commitment to purpose-driven learning connected to community and future pathways

● Comfort with ambiguity and enthusiasm for building and shaping a new program

● Growth mindset, flexibility, and willingness to learn alongside students and colleagues

 

Valid Wisconsin Educator License required. Candidates with licensure or dual certification in English, math, or science are strongly preferred, given our desire to develop teachers of record for core subject areas.

 

Candidates receiving a conditional offer of employment through the Westosha School District will be required to complete:
