Position Summary
HACIL Virtual Charter School is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented individual to join our team. The Part-Time Custodian will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors throughout the year.
Essential Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, common areas, and other school facilities.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize surfaces as needed.
- Empty trash and recycling and maintain cleanliness of assigned areas.
- Clean and maintain custodial equipment and supplies.
- Assist with routine building maintenance and minor groundskeeping tasks.
- Prepare and clean facilities for school activities and special events.
- Monitor and report maintenance, safety, or repair needs to the appropriate supervisor.
- Follow established safety, cleaning, and sanitation procedures.
- Maintain a professional and courteous presence while working around students, staff, and visitors.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous custodial or commercial cleaning experience preferred, but not required.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean environment.
- Ability to safely operate common cleaning equipment and use cleaning products according to instructions.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, carry, bend, reach, and perform other physical activities required for custodial work.
- Successful completion of required background screening.
Schedule
This is a year-round, part-time position averaging 16–20 hours per week. The specific work schedule will be established by the school and may include afternoon, evening, or other hours based on building needs and school activities.
