Cooperative Educational Service Agencies (CESAs) provide high-quality, innovative educational services to students and educators. There are 12 regional Cooperative Educational Service Agencies in Wisconsin. CESA 9 is located in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, and serves 22 school districts in North Central Wisconsin. CESAs make it possible for schools, regardless of size, to work together to share staff and equipment, save money, and extend educational opportunities for all children. Our catalog of services includes a wide range of support to help meet the needs of our school districts.

Join the dynamic team at Wisconsin Virtual School (WVS) and CESA 9 as a passionate and knowledgeable Family and Consumer Education Teacher Consultant. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver engaging asynchronous instruction through our user-friendly Learning Management System, empowering students across Wisconsin to explore the world of agriculture. As a WVS Teacher Consultant, you'll play a vital role in fostering student success in a flexible, contract-based role that can complement other professional commitments. This position is not eligible for CESA 9 Benefits or eligibility for the Wisconsin Retirement System.

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in the annual kick-off (live or asynchronous) to gain essential insights into course setup and WVS procedures.
  • Work with the WVS team to ensure all online course materials are organized and finalized prior to the start of student enrollments.
  • Maintain consistent and effective communication with students and their coaches:
    • Provide timely weekly progress updates to keep everyone informed.
    • Offer meaningful feedback on submitted assignments within three business days (excluding weekends and holidays) to support student growth.
    • Respond to email inquiries within two business days, ensuring prompt support.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the content, navigation, and structure of assigned agriculture course(s).
  • Proactively monitor student progress, offering encouragement, support, and tailored guidance to foster their success in the online environment.
  • Schedule and facilitate flexible, optional virtual connection opportunities using digital conferencing tools, adapting the frequency based on course enrollment to provide personalized interaction.
  • Engage in virtual and/or in-person professional development opportunities based on your schedule and interests to meet ongoing learning requirements.
  • Manage your time effectively to meet all responsibilities and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Wisconsin Teacher License: 1210
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching or working in an online or blended learning environment.
  • Proficiency in using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and basic online communication platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • High level of reliability and responsibility.
  • Passionate about improving education for all learners. 
  • Dedicated to providing high-quality support and a positive learning experience for students and their families.
  • Ability to work remotely.
