Location: Oconto Middle School
Program Hours: Monday–Friday, 3:15–5:45 p.m.
Program Terms: September–December (First Semester) and January–May (Second Semester)
Work Schedule: Up to 5 hours per week
Position Purpose
The Program Director provides overall leadership and accountability for the OMS Afterschool Club, ensuring safe, high-quality programming that supports student outcomes and meets grant requirements. This position oversees program planning, staff coordination, community partnerships, family communication, data collection, and budget management.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the overall design, coordination, and implementation of the Afterschool Club.

Develop and maintain a weekly schedule and variety of student activities, including homework support, STEM, arts, recreation, guest educators, and off-site activities.

Supervise and support program staff, including the Lead Teacher and paraprofessional/student helpers.

Coordinate staff coverage and substitutes as needed.

Oversee program enrollment, permissions, attendance, incident documentation, emergency procedures, and grant reporting requirements.

Coordinate partnerships with community organizations and guest educators, including scheduling and necessary agreements.

Manage family communication, including interest forms, program announcements, permission forms, dismissal information, and family or showcase events.

Oversee program data and evaluation, including surveys, attendance information, referrals, and other measures of student participation and outcomes.

Monitor equitable access and participation in program opportunities.

Track program expenditures, approve purchases, and ensure spending aligns with grant objectives and requirements.

Promote a safe, welcoming, and positive program culture.

Ensure appropriate behavior supports, restorative practices, mandated reporting requirements, and District safety procedures are followed.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Wisconsin teaching or administrative license or comparable experience leading youth programs.

At least two years of experience leading school or community programs serving middle-grade students.

Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Ability to effectively supervise and support program staff.

Ability to develop positive relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners.

Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with afterschool or extended-learning programming.
-
Knowledge or experience with MLSS and social-emotional learning (SEL).

Experience with program evaluation and data tracking.

Experience with grant compliance, documentation, and reporting.
