Position Details
The School District of Beloit is seeking a Vocal Director for the 26-27 BMHS Spring Musical. This is a seasonal position that typically runs from December through mid-March, from the audition process to the final performance. Each musical is different, so the number of songs performed may vary. Our average cast member does not have formal vocal training, so many leads will need individual attention.
What You’ll Do:
- Teach the cast songs for the chosen production.
- Choose universal audition selections for students to use in lead and chorus parts.
- Attend after-school practice 5 days a week during early rehearsals and every day during tech and dress rehearsals, leading up to the musical.
- Collaborate with sound technicians, the Pit Conductor, and the Pianist during tech and dress rehearsals to achieve balance and continuity of live vocals and musicians.
- Conduct warm-up practice for the cast pre-show.
