The D.C. Everest School Forest (Twin Oaks Environmental Center) is offering an evening winter staff position beginning mid-November 2026, continuing through mid-March 2027. This position would require availability for two evenings and overnight each week, Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday. The work schedule is 4:30 pm – 7:00 am. The Twin Oaks Environmental Center is located in the Village of Kronenwetter, approximately 15 minutes from the Village of Weston and approximately one half-hour northeast of Stevens Point.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Lead one fifth-grade class each evening through their nature-based activities, indoor fireplace/campfire skit night, student journaling, nature sketching, outdoor owl calling, etc. Activities and lessons are provided. The same program is followed both nights of the week for the duration of the program.
- Supervise students in an overnight setting. Private bedroom and bath are provided adjacent to student bunk room. One district teacher and several high school student leaders assist each evening along with spending the night.
- There are also opportunities to participate in day programs as part of an internship or student teaching experience, which could carry university credit.
WHAT YOU’LL RECEIVE:
- $17.00 per hour for the 4:30-9:00 pm shift.
- An overnight stipend of $144.00 which compensates for the hours of 9:00 pm until 7:00 am.

WHAT IT TAKES:
- Preferred undergraduate or graduate work in:
- Elementary or Secondary Education
- Environmental Education
- Natural Resources programs
- Preferred experience in environmental education/camp/school forest programs.
- Current Basic First Aid/CPR certification required.
