The ESL Aide - Spanish supports English Learners in achieving their language goals. This position entails providing instructional support, facilitating communication between students and educators, and collaborating with a team to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. The Aide must be proficient in both English and Spanish and must be passionate about empowering students on their path to academic and personal success. This is a part-time school year position that works 28.75 hours a week, Monday through Friday.
Essential Job Functions including but are not limited to:
- Supports students with schoolwork in small group or individual settings, collaborating with the EL teacher on instruction (e.g., pre-teaching, re-teaching, tutoring).
- Assists students in assimilating into the school environment, fostering inclusion and helping them participate in appropriate learning activities.
- Provides in-class support by reinforcing materials introduced by the teacher and responding to student requests for assistance with discretion.
- Builds positive relationships with students by offering encouragement, guidance, and support for academic and personal growth.
- Uses instructional strategies and supports for language learning (graphic organizers, visuals, videos, online resources)
- Clearly communicate information to students in English, use visuals and language to ensure comprehension for learners at various proficiency levels.
- Communicate with families in their native language to address concerns, answer questions, and promote student success at home and in school.
- Interpret information for families as needed.

Required
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certificates, Certifications, or Other Training: ACCESS certification (as needed on an annual basis)
- Previous Work-Related Experience: 1-3 years of work-related experience.
- Proficiency in spoken communication in two or more languages
