Wellness Coordinator
Position Summary
The part-time Community Wellness Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining comprehensive wellness initiatives that promote healthy living for the Plymouth School District and community members of all ages.
Education and Experience
Required
● Two years of experience in wellness program development and management
● Three years of experience as a fitness instructor, personal trainer, or wellness coach
Preferred

Experience with community-based wellness, recreation, or educational programs

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields:.

Essential Responsibilities
-
Develop, facilitate, and expand engaging healthy living initiatives for the Plymouth School District and community members
-
Serve as the district's wellness resource by providing education and leadership in the areas of nutrition, recreation, fitness, and mental and emotional well-being
-
Foster and maintain partnerships with community organizations, businesses, healthcare providers, and others to enhance programming and increase access to wellness opportunities
-
Pursue grants, sponsorships, and other funding opportunities to support sustainable wellness programming
-
Promote lifelong wellness by creating inclusive programs for participants of all ages and ability levels
Essential Duties

Teach approximately 3–5 hours of classes per week each session in fitness, nutrition, recreation, or related wellness topics

Recruit, orient, supervise, and evaluate fitness and wellness program instructors

Manage the Community Fitness Center, including staffing schedules, operations, and program coordination
-
Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements based on participation data, community feedback, and district goals
-
Prepare annual budgets, funding requests, and recommendations for ongoing program needs
-
Serve on the District Wellness Committee and support district wellness initiatives
-
Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of Community Education and Recreation
Physical Requirements

Ability to demonstrate and instruct fitness and recreational activities
-
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move equipment associated with program activities
Work Environment
-
This position works in a variety of environments, including schools, fitness facilities, parks, and outdoor recreation spaces.
-
The schedule may include daytime, evening, and occasional weekend hours to accommodate programming and community events.
Hiring Parameters
-
20-29 hours a week-flexible schedule with some irregular hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
-
Compensation range $20.80 - $24.50 per hour, commensurate with education and experience
-
Benefits include paid vacation and holidays and access to the Wisconsin Retirement System
