Key Responsibilities

1. Plan and Conduct Small Groups

• Develop and lead weekly social skills groups to support students' emotional and interpersonal growth.

2. Collaborate with Teachers

• Partner with classroom teachers to address social issues within the classroom environment.

• Provide strategies and support to promote a positive classroom culture.

3. Classroom Instruction

• Deliver social skills lessons in classrooms as needed, focusing on respect, kindness, and effective communication. Support our Middle School by teaching a study hall course twice a week as well as teaching an elective twice a week. Both of these courses would be taught our the last hour of the day. 

4. Promote Respect and Kindness

• Work closely with the principal and teachers to ensure students treat one another with respect and kindness in alignment with Christian values.

5. Parent Communication

• Communicate with parents promptly and effectively to provide guidance and support for student's social and emotional needs.

6. Policy and Safety Compliance

• Adhere to the personnel policies of Trinity Lutheran Church and Trinity Academy.

• Be knowledgeable about and follow all school policies, fire plans, and first aid procedures.

• In emergencies or natural disasters, remain on campus to supervise students and assist until released by the Principal or emergency coordinator.

7. School Advocacy

• Consistently speak positively about Trinity Academy and actively promote the school’s mission and values.

8. Licensure Maintenance

• Maintain all necessary certifications and licenses required for the counseling role.
