Full Time
St. Germain and Montessori Learning Center are looking for a full-time special education paraprofessional to work with students during the school year. This paraprofessional will work within a professional learning community, collaborating with other school staff to support students with disability-related needs. We are looking forward to having this candidate bring a love of working with children, a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.
The District will provide this paraprofessional with support and professional development in:
- Supporting students in learning, behavior, and/or social/emotional development
- Co-regulating students in moments of heightened stress
- Establishing strong connections and supportive relationships with students and staff
- Supporting student access, engagement, and progress in the academic environment
Preferred:
- Experience working with young children, particularly in early childhood or school settings
- Experience in supporting students with autism or diverse learning and developmental needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with teachers and team members
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive, student-centered approach
Required:
- Has obtained an associate's (or higher) degree, or
- Has at least two years of post-secondary education that is equivalent to at least 48 semester hours from an accredited higher education institution, or
- Has experience working with children in a preschool or elementary environment, or
- Has met a rigorous standard of quality and is able to demonstrate knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics (or, as appropriate, reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness) by taking and passing one of the required assessments.
