Farmington Elementary School is seeking an energetic, dedicated, and student-centered 2nd Grade Teacher to join our teaching community. Key Responsibilities:
- Instructional Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, research-based lessons aligned with Wisconsin State Academic Standards in literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies.
- Differentiated Learning: Design and implement instruction that accommodates diverse learning styles, providing enrichment for advanced learners and targeted interventions for students needing additional support.
- Assessment & Data Use: Utilize formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress, drive instructional decisions, and set meaningful learning goals.
- Classroom Management: Establish a positive, structured, and culturally responsive learning environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and a growth mindset.
- Team Collaboration: Actively engage in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), grade-level planning, and district-wide professional development to continuously improve instructional practices.
- Family Partnership: Maintain open, proactive, and positive communication with parents and guardians regarding academic, social, and behavioral progress.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Must hold (or be eligible to hold) a valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) teaching license encompassing the 2nd-grade level.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong understanding of early literacy instruction and child development.
- Familiarity with the Wisconsin Foundations of Reading standards and evidence-based reading methodologies.
- Excellent collaborative, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
