REQUIREMENTS: DPI license endorsement in Early Childhood Regular Education or Early Childhood-Middle Childhood Regular Education

Position will likely be for Kindergarten.

Responsibilities:

I. Planning
• Possess subject matter knowledge consistent with course/grade assignments.
• Follow the approved district curriculum.
• Select relevant materials and activities to accomplish lesson objectives.
• Plan lessons with objectives and learner expectations in mind.
• Remain educationally current.

II. Instruction
• Teach and provide learning opportunities for students.
• Implement the approved district curriculum.
• Present lessons based on objectives appropriate to the learner.
• Provide opportunities for inquiry, exploration and enrichment.
• Recognize individual needs, student leading styles, and behavior, which may influence learning.
• Attempt to provide a variety of teaching techniques, strategies, and modes.
• Provide ongoing feedback and reinforcement.
• Use appropriate strategies for classroom management.
• Exhibit flexibility in matching content to the learners’ level of development.

III. Evaluation
• Assess student progress both formally and informally on an ongoing basis.
• Monitor the effectiveness of personal instructional techniques.
• Assist in the appraisal/development of curriculum.
• Implement evaluation information appropriately.

IV. Interpersonal Relationships
• Demonstrate respect, fairness and consistency when working with students and staff.
• Share expectations, listen, and collaborate
• Communicate with parents or guardians regarding student progress.

Applicants with multiple licensures, including Special Education licensure, Reading Teacher or Reading Specialist are encouraged to apply. Additional experience with co-serving and Multi-level Systems of Support is preferred.
