Position Details
The Four Lakes Board is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated School Counselor to join Wisconsin Virtual Academy High School. This role is ideal for a student-centered professional who is passionate about supporting learners in achieving academic, social-emotional, and career success in a virtual environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of approximately 400-415 students, supporting their academic progress and overall success

Monitor students graduation status with credits and their Personalized Learning Plans (PLP’S)

Scheduling new students weekly as they transfer to WIVA.

Monitor student engagement and performance, including grades, attendance/log-ins, course activity, and assignment completion

Proactively communicate with students and families when concerns arise, using phone, text and email outreach

Facilitate and lead conference meetings with students, parents, staff as needed.

Collaborate with school staff, families, and community agencies to provide comprehensive support services

Assisting and/or presenting in weekly homerooms
- Valid Wisconsin School Counselor license (Master’s’ Degree)

Experience with, or strong knowledge of, the Wisconsin Comprehensive School Counseling Model (high school level preferred)

Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues

Strong collaboration skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders

Knowledge of student development, intervention strategies, and family support practices

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to quickly learn new technology tools (Infinite Campus, Powerschool)

Willingness to travel within Wisconsin for professional development, state testing, and related activities
This is a year-round position with the following time off: 20 days Discretionary Leave , Spring Break, Winter Break, Thanksgiving Break, Federal Holidays as Prescribed. Summer Break as described: Last week of June-August 1st. Additionally, each counselor is required to cover one week (5 working days) "on-call" between the last week of June-August 1st.
This position does have healthcare, vision, dental, 401K- match, & bonuses. Note: This position is not part of the McFarland School District and does not include district benefits.
This is a work from home position with some travel including visitations with families, school events, and state testing.
Computer, printer, internet stipend ($50/month) provided.
