The Kewaskum School District has an opening for a Study Hall Coordinator who will be responsible for creating and maintaining a structured, supportive, and productive learning environment during study hall periods. This role ensures students use designated study time effectively for homework, test preparation, quiet reading, or academic support while upholding school expectations for behavior and academic integrity. The coordinator serves as a key adult presence, promoting accountability, providing academic guidance, and helping students develop strong study habits.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and monitor students during all assigned study hall periods, ensuring a quiet, focused atmosphere conducive to learning.
  • Take daily attendance and maintain accurate records of student participation, tardies, and absences.
  • Enforce school policies, rules, and expectations regarding behavior, electronic use, food/drink, and academic honesty.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to support specific student needs, including monitoring assignment completion and communicating progress or concerns.
  • Manage study hall resources, including textbooks, laptops/chromebooks, calculators, reference materials, and quiet reading options.
  • Assist with student scheduling or study hall placements as needed.
  • Identify students who consistently struggle with focus or productivity and refer them to counselors, administrators, or support programs.
  • Supervise study hall activities, including quiet study groups, test make-up sessions, and targeted academic interventions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming study hall space.
  • Perform light administrative duties such as preparing reports on attendance, productivity, or student behavior for administration.
  • Build positive relationships with students while maintaining clear professional boundaries.
This position is part-time, school year only, 29.5 hours/week.
 
Previous experience working with high school-aged students in an educational setting (teaching assistant, tutor, coach, mentor, or substitute teacher) preferred.
