Full Time
The Whitewater Unified School District is looking for one full-time multilingual education paraprofessional to work at Lincoln Elementary School. The Multilingual (ML) paraprofessional at the Whitewater Unified School District provides linguistic and academic support to multilingual students and assists classroom teachers in instruction and assessment. The ML paraprofessional also serves as a cultural and linguistic resource for the school site. Hours are typically 7:30am to 3:30pm and on all school calendar days.
Lincoln Elementary School in Whitewater, WI, serves 390 students in 4K-5th grade. Our school is proud of our diversity, student centered approach, and known for our positive school family culture. Whitewater Unified School District has elements of rural and suburban communities. The City of Whitewater has a population of approximately 14,500. Whitewater is located in southern Wisconsin, approximately 45 miles west of Milwaukee, 45 miles east of Madison, and 100 miles northwest of Chicago. The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, with an enrollment of over 10,500 students, offers residents a variety of cultural and educational opportunities.
- Hold a high-school diploma and meet the requirements for a paraprofessional established by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction
- Must be fluent in Spanish and in English in the areas of Speaking, Reading, Writing, and Comprehension
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Culturally-responsive techniques and methods for appropriate and effective communication and interaction with a multicultural audience
- Positive, growth mindset and ability to collaborate and problem-solve
- Computer and technology literacy for an academic setting
- Physical capabilities sufficient to perform job tasks
- Must be fluent in Spanish and in English in the areas of Speaking, Reading, Writing, and Comprehension
