The Two Rivers Public School District is seeking applicants for a part-time Hmong Interpreter to facilitate communication between staff and families.  This may include parent meetings, special education meetings, or phone calls home.

Qualified candidates should:

●        Have a high school diploma.

●        Have the ability to speak, read and write proficiently in Hmong in order to break linguistic and cultural barriers between families and staff.

●        Have the ability to shift from one language to another in simultaneous and consecutive mode of interpreting.

●        Have knowledge of educational terminology or a willingness to learn.

●        Demonstrate strong communication skills and excellent listening skills.

●        Demonstrate the ability to multi-task and have effective organizational skills.

●        Model flexibility and a willingness to take initiative.

●        Be open to collaboration with teachers and families.
