Full Time
The Mineral Point Unified School District is seeking a full-time teacher to support students in the upper elementary grades (3-5). The applicant will need to hold, or be willing to obtain, a special education cross-categorical license for teaching Middle Childhood-Early Adolescence (ages 6-12), as well as completion of a science-based early literacy training required by Act 20.
The desired candidate will need to be skilled at:
- Creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for children with varying degrees of special needs
- Differentiating instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
- Collaborating with other teachers, therapists, and support staff to provide a successful, inclusive educational experience
- Monitoring and assessing student progress using evidence-based strategies and tools, making necessary adjustments to instructional strategies
- Providing a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes learning and growth
- Communicating positively and effectively with all stakeholders, including families
- Developing trust and fostering positive relationships with students with the goal of building a thriving classroom community.
- Demonstrating a sense of self-awareness around one's current strengths and areas of growth in the field of education, as well as the desire to continuously grow in the profession and share his/her knowledge to improve collective practice.
