Special Education Early Childhood Teacher - Vacancy ID: 258283

The Mineral Point Unified School District is seeking a full-time teacher to support students in the primary grades (4K-2).  The applicant will need to hold, or be willing to obtain, a special education license for teaching birth to grade 3, as well as completion of a science-based early literacy training required by Act 20.

The desired candidate will need to be skilled at:

• Creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for children with varying degrees of special needs
• Differentiating instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
• Collaborating with other teachers, therapists, and support staff to provide a successful, inclusive educational experience
• Monitoring and assessing student progress using evidence-based strategies and tools, making necessary adjustments to instructional strategies
• Providing a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes learning and growth
• Communicating positively and effectively with all stakeholders, including families
• Developing trust and fostering positive relationships with students with the goal of building a thriving classroom community.
• Demonstrating a sense of self-awareness around one's current strengths and areas of growth in the field of education, as well as the desire to continuously grow in the profession and share his/her knowledge to improve collective practice.
