The Antigo School District is seeking a Physical Education Teacher to deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction that promotes lifelong fitness, wellness, and healthy decision-making. This position fosters an inclusive environment that encourages physical activity, teamwork, and personal responsibility while supporting students’ physical, mental, and emotional well-being.This is an exciting opportunity to join a district experiencing strong momentum and growth. Following the successful passage of a $54 million referendum, the district is building a new elementary school scheduled to open in December 2026—reflecting the community’s deep commitment to public education. The district has also demonstrated significant academic improvement, rising 122 places in state rankings for student achievement.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate Physical Education and Health lessons aligned to Wisconsin standards
- Promote fitness, skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship through structured activities
- Teach topics including nutrition, mental health, personal safety, and wellness
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
- Maintain a safe, positive, and organized learning environment
- Assess and monitor student progress in physical skills and health knowledge
- Communicate with families regarding student growth and participation
- Collaborate with staff to support district-wide wellness initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Health Education, or related field
- Valid Wisconsin DPI teaching license (or eligibility) in Physical Education and Health
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
- Knowledge of student development and health education best practices
Preferred
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Commitment to student wellness, equity, and engagement
- Collaborative mindset and dedication to continuous improvement
