Parkview Jr./Sr. High School is seeking a highly motivated, student-centered Technology Education Teacher who is excited to build and grow a dynamic Career and Technical Education (CTE) program.

The ideal candidate will provide engaging, hands-on instruction in areas such as woodworking, construction, manufacturing, engineering, or related fields, while preparing students with the technical and employability skills needed for success in the workforce.

This position offers a unique opportunity to partner with local businesses, industry leaders, and community organizations to expand programming and create meaningful pathways for students. We are especially interested in candidates who are eager to develop and grow advanced trades opportunities, including youth apprenticeship, dual credit, and other career-connected learning experiences.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of our CTE program, increasing student interest and participation, and building strong connections between the school and the local workforce.


Key Responsibilities

Curriculum & Instruction

  • Develop and deliver standards-based technology education curriculum with an emphasis on hands-on, project-based learning.
  • Teach courses in areas such as construction, woodworking, manufacturing, engineering, or related technical fields.
  • Integrate safety practices, industry standards, and real-world applications into all instruction.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs.
  • Assess and monitor student progress using a variety of assessment methods.

CTE Program Development & Community Partnerships

  • Actively lead and grow a strong CTE program aligned to workforce needs.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local businesses, trades professionals, and community organizations.
  • Develop opportunities for students including youth apprenticeship, internships, job shadowing, and dual credit.
  • Expand advanced trades pathways and promote career awareness among students.

Student Engagement & Career Readiness

  • Foster student interest in skilled trades and technical careers.
  • Help students develop employability skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and communication.
  • Promote participation in student organizations or competitions related to technical education, if applicable.

Collaboration & School Involvement

  • Collaborate with colleagues, counselors, and administration to support student career pathways.
  • Partner with families and community stakeholders to enhance program visibility and opportunities.
  • Contribute to a positive and innovative school culture.

Professional Growth

  • Participate in ongoing professional development related to CTE and industry trends.
  • Stay current with advancements in technology, equipment, and instructional practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology Education, Industrial Technology, or related field.
  • Valid Wisconsin DPI Certification in Technology Education required.
  • Experience or strong background in skilled trades or technical fields preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, safety practices, and modern instructional techniques.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Commitment to developing and sustaining a high-quality CTE program.
