Description

The Two Rivers Public School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered High School Counselor to join our Raider family. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader committed to fostering the academic, career, and social-emotional development of all students. This role is central to our mission of empowering every individual to learn and thrive in a dynamic world by building community, championing diversity, and leading for positive change through the Raider CODE of collaboration, ownership, leadership and engagement..

Key Responsibilities

  • Academic & Career Planning (ACP): Lead the implementation of the Wisconsin WCRS strands (Know, Explore, Plan, Go). Facilitate annual goal development for students and oversee the 9–12 scope and sequence.

  • Student Support: Provide individual and small-group counseling to address social-emotional needs, academic hurdles, and transition from middle school to high school.

  • College & Career Readiness: Assist students in navigating high school through leadership development, goal setting, and overall engagement in connecting learning to post-secondary plans.

  • Collaboration: Act as a liaison between students, parents, staff, and community partners (including local industry and post-secondary institutions).  Candidates will also excel in engaging in the PLC process with the district team.

  • Data-Driven Advocacy: Use student data to identify gaps in achievement or opportunity and develop interventions to support student success.

  • Additional Roles May Include: Facilitating master scheduling through Infinite Campus, school assessment coordinator duties, and student recognition programs.


Two Rivers School district serves over 1600 students, 435 students at the high school, and is located on the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan in Eastern Wisconsin. The district operates four school buildings, including two elementary schools, one middle school, one high school, and a charter K-12 school.

Candidate Requirements

 

  • Licensure: Must hold or be eligible for a Wisconsin DPI School Counselor License (7054).

  • Experience: Previous experience at the high school level is preferred, specifically with Xello (or similar ACP software) and Infinite Campus.

  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and "servant leadership" skills. Ability to build authentic relationships with a diverse student body.

  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Wisconsin Standards for Career Readiness and graduation requirements.
