Kewaskum High School is seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Athletics and Activities to lead our secondary extracurricular programs. The ideal candidate will be a champion for student engagement, committed to fostering a culture of sportsmanship, leadership, and excellence across all competitive and co-curricular pursuits.
The Director provides comprehensive leadership, oversight, and coordination for all interscholastic athletic programs and extracurricular activities. This role ensures strict compliance with WIAA regulations, conference policies, and district standards while proactively promoting student-athlete academic success, safety, and a vibrant school spirit. Operating within a mid-sized high school setting, the Director strategically manages budgets, facilities, personnel, and community relations to maximize student participation and holistic development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop a robust and comprehensive program based on the needs and interests of students
- Perform administrative responsibilities to run an effective and efficient athletics and activities program
- Mentor coaches/advisors on best practices for working with students and building strong programs
- Stay knowledgeable in the current local and state rules and regulations
- Collaborate with the youth athletic programs
- Communicate with the community and markets the athletic and activity programs using appropriate media and district outlets
- Oversee the Fitness Center scheduling and after school programs
- Develop fundraising to help support athletic and activity programs and facility upgrades
- Attend events to ensure that they run smoothly and that students and fans have excellent experiences.
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's in School Administration or Athletic Administration
