The St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band Teacher who will bring a vibrant and engaging outlook to the music program, where students come to love and appreciate music in a Catholic learning environment.
The Band Teacher is responsible for implementing the middle school band curriculum, with a focus on individual lessons and large group instruction, maintaining student discipline and being responsible for the student’s overall academic achievement. This is a full-time contract for the 2026-2027 academic year, beginning August 2026.
- Assist in the selection of music, supplies and other instructional materials through collaboration with the other music teachers to plan a balanced music and fine arts program.
- Maximize the learning potential of each student by applying current research-based best practices that model the skills and practices of lifelong learning.
- Engage students in learning by using a variety of instructional strategies to meet individual learning needs.
- Foster consistent learning initiatives aligned to the School System while continuously seeking and engaging in professional learning and development opportunities.
- Always maintain a safe, positive and student-centric environment that is advantageous to student growth and engagement.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field – Current WI DPI License preferred
- Strong background in band is required
- Ability to work with beginning students with patience while emphasizing the fundamentals of musical notation.
- Knowledge of effective teaching methods and ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Transcripts & Licenses/Certifications.
