The East Troy Community School District is looking for an on-call Substitute Custodian. This position offers great flexibility between first and second shift hours. 
 
JOB SUMMARY:
Helps in maintaining the physical school facilities in a condition of excellence, cleanliness, and safety as to promote a positive educational environment and ensure that public use can be made of them at all times.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Perform routine custodial cleaning duties to include but not limited to sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, polishing, disinfection of horizontal and vertical surfaces and vacuuming of floors.
  • Wash walls, woodwork, windows, doors, sills, and clean and disinfect bathroom fixtures.
  • Empty wastebaskets and trash.
  • Replenish bathroom supplies.
  • Clear snow and de-ice sidewalks and maintain them in a safe condition.
  • Set up, rearrange, and tear down furniture and bleachers for all district and public events as needed.
  • Tear down all rooms and events. Perform annual cleaning and painting of all district rooms.
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions and adjust as building, weather and other events or instructions require.
  • Dust furniture and equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
NECESSARY SKILLS/ABILITIES AND TEMPERAMENTS:
  • Interact effectively with district staff, public and students in a positive manner.
  • Perform repetitive or short-cycle work.
  • Operate automatic scrubber, and other custodial equipment needed to perform the essential job functions.
  • Use basic hand tools, some power tools and equipment.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Valid Wisconsin driver's license required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

- Plan, collect, and organize materials to be used for the tasks assigned.
- Carry out work with little or no direction.
- Use good judgment and solve problems sometimes in emergencies or within tight deadlines.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently assist in lifting and/or moving more than 100 pounds.
