Position Details
Duties of the Position:
The Cook position is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals in a safe, efficient, and professional school food service environment. This role requires a positive and professional attitude in all interactions with students, parents, co-workers, and school staff. Responsibilities include preparing hot and cold food items (such as entrées, vegetables, starches, salads, and wraps), following all food safety guidelines for proper handling, labeling, dating, and storage of food, and maintaining a clean and sanitary workspace at all times. The Cook provides direct service to students and staff during meal periods, accurately records student meal counts through computer entry, documents food production and leftovers, assists with daily dishwashing, and performs other duties as assigned.
Special Skills Required:

Knowledge of food safety and meal service following State and Federal guidelines.

Understanding of standardized recipes including units of measure.

Basic math skills necessary to calculate and document meal counts and food usage.

Basic computer skills preferred.

Must pass background check and physical upon offer of employment.
School Year Employee 8:45am - 1:45pm with summer employment opportunities available
