The ELL Teacher will work collaboratively with students, families, and colleagues to provide academic support to English Language Learners (ELL) at the elementary and high school levels. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse student populations and a strong commitment to academic excellence for all.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•  Instruct English Language Learners through individual and small group intervention, focusing on developing language proficiency across all language domains (listening, speaking, reading and writing)
• Support students’ academic skills while simultaneously building language skills through supported instruction and differentiated learning activities.
• Provide language assistance programming that is educationally sound in theory and effective in practice, with the ability to measure its effectiveness.
• Implement Individualized Language Plan/Individualized Language Program (ILPs) based on the individual needs of ELL students, tailoring instruction to address their specific language learning goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with the Learning Services team, instructional staff, other school personnel and parents to support students’ development and success.
• Assist classroom teachers in adapting classroom work to address the individual needs of English Language Learners.
• Support classroom teachers in the implementation of established curriculum and individual student plans, providing instructional support as needed.
• Assist with translation/interpretation for Spanish-speaking families, if possible, to facilitate communication between school and home.
• Supervise students during transitions between classes and special events as needed. Ensuring the health and safety of students, equipment and facilities by implementing appropriate precautions
• Represent Xavier Catholic Schools professionally in interactions with stakeholders, including parents, community members, staff and students
