The Northland Pines School District is looking for a dynamic and talented person to join our family.  The person will  promote the Northland Pines School District and enhance public relations through communications, community engagement, and social media channels.  This person will also design and develop brochures, posters, newsletters, logos and other promotional materials for the district. The person in this position will work collaboratively with staff and administration to serve our students, staff and community.  


The ideal candidate will have strong organization and communication skills and will be  passionate about marketing and communication. This is a year round, full time district wide support staff position with benefits.   Note: some early morning, evening and weekend hours are required.

 

Description of duties:

 

  • Manage social media channels

  • Develop and monitor content for the social media channels

  • Develop, design and distribute brochures, posters, newsletters, logos, invitations and other promotional materials

  • Provide planning and leadership for organizing and coordinating external and internal public relations and community engagement initiatives of the district

  • Prepare district press releases and send to media contacts

  • Photograph, live stream and/or video recording of district events

  • Edit and produce short video clips (for social media and other promotional purposes) of student and staff events

  • Design and create the school district's newsletter 1-2 times per year

  • Attend all Board Meetings to project the public view of the electronic board packet

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and the highest level of security

Qualifications:

  • Have a strong background in technology, social media, marketing, graphic design and the online environment

  • Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills

  • Provide communication consultation to administrators, staff members and school related groups

  • Ability to design graphics to be used online and in print (Canva, AdobeSuite and other tools) 

  • Develop relationships (internal and external) to create and continually foster positive relationships and communications on behalf of the district

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology, software, social media, AI, and other forms of communication

  • Seek  and participate in opportunities for professional development 

  • Maintain a familiarity with district policies, practices and programs and assist in their development if needed

 

Education/Skills:

  • Professional training in marketing/communication strategies and public relations

  • Proficient photography and video editing skills
