Position Details
The Three Lakes School District is seeking a 1.0 FTE Special Education Teacher starting with the 2026-2027 school year. The anticipated start date is August 11, 2026. The candidate must love working with all students, possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, and possess excellent behavior and problem solving skills. Philosophy of inclusion is a must. The ideal candidate is student-centered, collaborative, and committed to inclusive practices that promote independence, dignity, and belonging for students with disabilities.
Certification Requirements:
Valid WI DPI license in Special Education Cross-Categorical license (WI DPI license #2801 or 1810, 1811, and 1830). Eligibility to obtain licensure/certifications will be considered.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of IDEA, inclusive practices, and behavioral supports.

Skilled in addressing diverse learning, behavioral, and medical needs.

Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.

Collaborate effectively with general education teachers to implement inclusive practices through co-teaching/co-serving students.

Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals and service providers to ensure all students’ needs are met.

Design and implement specially designed instruction aligned with IEP goals for students with diverse learning needs.

Use data to inform instructional decisions and track student progress in a multi-tiered system of supports.

Provide differentiated instruction aligned with our curriculum to meet individual student needs.

Employ problem-solving strategies to address barriers to learning and behavioral challenges (knowledge/training in NVCI/Verbal Intervention strategies, Restorative practices, etc.).

Foster collaborative partnerships with all IEP team members to ensure comprehensive support for students.

Knowledge of transition services and community resources available for families.

Experience with assessments, continuous improvement through system changes, and work on co-planning and co-serving on teams.
Duties:

Development and implementation of IEPs.

Lead Evaluation and IEP team meetings, as well as complete necessary paperwork adhering to timelines.

Provide specially designed instruction for students in all special education areas.

Provide academic and behavioral interventions for students.

Monitor student progress and maintain compliance.

Co-serve with general education teachers in the general education classroom and provide pull-out services when necessary.

Create student schedules and paraprofessional schedules.

Problem-solve strategies tailored to inform instruction and accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.

Collaborate with school personnel and families to foster positive relationships between home and school.

Create and maintain a safe and structured learning environment.

Participate in professional learning communities, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.

Model professionalism, positive character traits, lifelong learning, and advocate for students.
