Position Details
The Three Lakes School District has an anticipated position available for a 1.0 FTE (100%) elementary physical education teacher (4K-6) at Sugar Camp School and Three Lakes Elementary School beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. This position is split between our two elementary schools (half day at Sugar Camp and half day at Three Lakes). The anticipated start date is August 11, 2026. While this position is currently anticipated to be at the elementary level (4K-6), placement may be adjusted to include grades 7-12 based on district FTE, staffing, and course needs.
We are seeking a dynamic, energetic, and innovative teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring energy, creativity, and a strong understanding of physical education content standards while preparing students to be active throughout their lives. We welcome applicants from both entry-level and experienced backgrounds. Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, interviews, and reference checks.
Three Lakes School District is located on the east side of Oneida County, Wisconsin. We serve over 500 students across two school buildings. Our district’s mission statement is “teaching students to become productive citizens." We believe it’s important to teach not only academics, but lifelong skills that will help our students succeed in their communities.
CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
Physical Education (1530)
Preferred: Health Education (1910), Adaptive Physical Education (1860)
Eligibility to obtain licensure/certifications will be considered.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong knowledge of state physical education standards.
Ability to plan and deliver developmentally appropriate physical education instruction for elementary students.
Strong classroom and behavior management skills in an active learning environment.
Ability to assess student learning and physical development using a variety of methods.
Experience integrating technology into physical education instruction.
Training or certification in first aid, CPR, and AED.
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and foster engagement with elementary school students.
Familiarity with instructional technology and is able to creatively and appropriately integrate technology into practice.
DUTIES:
Plan and deliver engaging developmentally appropriate physical education lessons aligned with state standards.
Promote physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, teamwork, and sportsmanship among elementary students.
Create and maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment during all physical activities.
Teach fundamental motor skills, movement concepts, and age-appropriate games and activities.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with disabilities or special needs.
Assess student performance and progress using a variety of formal and informal assessment methods.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments.
Communicate regularly with classroom teachers, parents, administrators, and support staff.
Collaborate with colleagues to support school-wide initiatives and student success.
Participate in staff professional development, staff meetings, and required trainings.
Stay current with best practices in physical education and child development.
Model and reinforce positive behavior and character development.
Ensure proper use, care, and storage of physical education equipment.
Follow all school, district, and safety policies, including supervision and injury prevention procedures.
Support students at school events, assemblies, and extracurricular activities.
OTHER:
Willingness to coach extracurricular activities, supervise in our fitness center, coach sports, or help with other after-school programming.
