The School District of Owen-Withee is seeking a full time 6-12 Principal whose duties will begin August 1, 2026. The School District of Owen-Withee is located half-way between Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Wausau, WI on Hwy 29. We serve roughly 275 students in the 6-12 builidng. The Administrative team is made up of 3 Administrators (Superintendent, PK-5 Principal, 6-12 Middle School/ High School Principal). Our community is very supportive and a big part of our school. We are looking for a dynamic leader who has the ability to move our students, staff, and community forward. Instructional innovation and willingness to take chances to help towards success are a must. We are looking for someone interested in becoming a part of all aspects of what Owen-WIthee has to offer and is willing to create an environment where everyone can succeed. The students are outstanding winning many awards in the co-curricular events they are a part. Currently, the educational team is working on science curriculum to make learning improvements. Principal Duties and Responsiblities
- Collaborate with fellow principal and teacher leaders to support the implementation of district curriculum, instructional initiatives, and school improvement plans.
- Monitor instructional quality and student achievement through classroom observations, data analysis, and collaboration with instructional staff.
- Provide instructional leadership, coaching, and feedback to teachers to improve teaching and learning.
- Implement and oversee the teacher evaluation and performance framework, including formal observations, feedback, and documentation using the DPI Model.
- Promote equitable, inclusive, and culturally responsive instructional practices across the school.
- Establish and maintain a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment.
- Oversee student behavior management, discipline processes, and restorative practices in accordance with district policies and procedures.
- Partner with counselors, social workers, special education staff, and families to support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs, in collaboration with the Director of Special Education.
- Lead or participate in student intervention, attendance, and support team meetings as required.
- Supervise, evaluate, and support certified and support staff.
- Assign staff duties, schedules, and supervision responsibilities.
- Lead staff onboarding, mentoring, professional development, and performance improvement efforts.
- Foster a collaborative, professional school culture focused on continuous improvement.
- Oversee daily school operations, including arrival/dismissal procedures, supervision schedules, and building protocols.
- Ensure compliance with district policies, state and federal laws, and regulations (e.g., FERPA, special education requirements).
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to students, staff, and school operations.
- Lead emergency planning, drills, and crisis response efforts in coordination with district administration.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and school concerns.
- Participate in parent meetings, conferences, school events, and community activities.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the school, families, district administration, and community partners.
- Supervise students before, during, and after school, including events and extracurricular activities, as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
