Position Details

Be responsible for procurement of all goods and services related to food service, for the overall good of the district.

Works with the District Administrator to communicate bid winners and contracts to the District Administrator and School Board.

Manage all state and federal contracts concerning food service through working with the WISNAP food buying group.

Monitor student qualification statuses to remain within federal guidelines.

Manage all free, reduced, and paid student food records.
-
Prepare monthly menus.
-
Order food and other needs on a weekly basis.
-
Responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and evaluating production sheets.
-
Ensures food safety, training, and evaluation of food service employees and substitutes.
-
Maintain and oversee the cleanliness and sanitary guidelines set forth in the kitchen and kitchen equipment.

Ensures proper storage of food, chemicals, and equipment in the kitchen.

Manages the monthly claims along with the record keeping of all claims by working with the District Business Office

Attends DPI trainings and any other training as recommended by the District Administrator.

Maintains weekly invoice breakdown for billing.
-
Accommodate menus for snow days/food recalls as they may arise.
-
Other duties as assigned by the District Administrator.

Must have or be able to receive a ServeSafe Certification.

Strong leadership ability to work effectively with coworkers and the public.

Must be able to work independently and in a team setting.
-
Knowledge in production cooking and menu planning while maintaining food safety standards.
-
Knowledge in maintaining state and federal standards for the NSBP, NSLP, and SFP.
-
Knowledgeable in proper procurement, bid writing, and analysis.

Thorough knowledge of health and safety procedures that are set in place.

Must have knowledge in federal commodities.

Maintain high levels of ethical behavior and confidentiality. Discreetly handle information pertaining to staff, students, and families.
