Job Summary:
The School District of New London is seeking three dynamic and innovative Special Education Teachers to join our collaborative school communities and existing special education teams as we continue moving forward to ensure success for all students. We anticipate the following three full-time vacancies for the 2026-27 school year including:

Special Education Teacher at Lincoln Elementary School (Likely focus Cross Categorical Grades 3 & 4)

Special Education Teacher at New London Intermediate School/Middle School with special emphasis on students with complex support needs and/or Intellectual Disabilities Grades 5-8

Special Education Teacher at New London Intermediate School/Middle School with special emphasis on students with social emotional learning needs and/or Emotional-Behavioral Disabilities Grades 5-8
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution

Valid Wisconsin DPI License as a Special Education Teacher (Cross Categorical, Intellectual Disabilities, Emotional Behavioral Disabilities, Specific Learning Disabilities)

Essential Job Duties:

Contribute to creating meaningful learning opportunities and environments where students, staff and others are connected, supported and safe to thrive.

Provide specially designed instruction in academic, functional, and social-emotional skill areas aligned to IEP goals using evidence-based practices.

Collect, analyze, and document student progress data to inform instruction, update IEPs and communicate progress to students, families and IEP teams.

Collaborate with general education teachers to plan, adapt, and co-deliver instruction, accommodations and modifications in inclusive and resource settings.

Develop, implement, and regularly revise Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with IDEA, Wisconsin law, and district procedures.

Coordinate, participate in and lead IEP and evaluation/re-evaluation meetings, contributing assessment information and instructional recommendations.

Implement positive behavior support strategies, behavior intervention plans, and classroom routines that promote a safe, predictable learning environment.

Communicate regularly and professionally with parents/guardians, related service providers and outside agencies to support student success and transitions.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including IEP paperwork, progress reports, compliance records, and required state/district reports.

Engage in ongoing professional learning related to special education, instructional strategies, high-leverage practices, and culturally responsive practices.

The School District of New London is located in East Central Wisconsin on the border of Waupaca and Outagamie counties. It covers 144 square miles in three counties with an approximate population of 18,000 and a tax base of just over one billion dollars. We are well known for our recreation activities including historic Hatten Park and Mosquito Hill, with quick access to the Fox Valley for the Performing Arts Center (PAC), Timber Rattler Stadium and a variety of shopping and entertainment. New London is a district of the perfect size with access to all you need.
