The Whitewater Unified School District is seeking a motivated and qualified full-time Bilingual/Bicultural teacher. The successful candidate must hold ESL Teacher (#395) DPI certification and hold or be able to obtain a Bilingual/Bicultural License (#390) and meet the following requirements.
 
HIRING INCENTIVE OF $3,000.00 FOR BILINGUAL AND/OR BILINGUAL/BICULTURAL LICENSE
 
Minimum Qualifications:
Successful experience in working with culturally diverse families and communities, or have demonstrated a commitment to strengthening engagement of a diverse community and skill in communicating with a diverse population.
Knowledge and skill in culturally responsive teaching and learning focused on the needs of multilingual learners.
Skill in classroom management and ability to achieve, support, and maintain acceptable student behavior.
Knowledge of and experience with the WIDA English Language Development Standards Framework.
Knowledge of and ability to use multiple assessments, instruction, and evaluation techniques that are proven effective in bilingual education.
Skill and ability to utilize technology to aid instruction, assessment and learning.
Knowledge of child and adolescent social, linguistic and academic development and ability to apply that knowledge to the selection and application of curriculum materials and instructional practices.
Have background, training, or experience in co-teaching and bilingual literacy development.
Experience with collecting, reviewing, and analyzing student data to inform practice, and advocate for student needs
Demonstrated ability to effectively and positively communicate verbally and in writing with students, families, and staff in Spanish and English.
Successful completion of a teacher certification program at an accredited college or university, and valid state certification(s).
Ability to coach and support regular education teachers with best practices in serving, teaching, and assessing multilingual learners.
Evidence of continuous professional learning and a commitment to participate in professional growth opportunities, collaborations, and self-reflection on professional practice.
 
Desired Qualifications:
Successful experience teaching in a diverse student environment and building positive relationships
Successful experience in a team teaching, collaborative environment
Successful experience in the grade level(s) and/or content area(s)
Experience administering language and academic screeners and the ACCESS for ELLs test
Experience or exposure to Dual Language Immersion classrooms and programming
