ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP

  • Report and account to the Secondary Building Principals and Director of Instruction.

  • Work collaboratively with the CTE Coordinator and Student Services Chair.


POSITION PURPOSE

  • Coordinate 6-12 ACP duties and tasks to assist staff, community partners, students, and parents in high school and post-high school planning using various resources and formats to do so.

  • Provide clerical support to the building administration, student services personnel, and the Career and Technical Educational (CTE) coordinator.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinate and develop ACP curriculum and Raider Pride Time (RPT) lessons for students and provide prep/training for RPT advisors when needed.

  • Work in cooperation with WRAMS Student Services staff to establish college and career readiness opportunities for students in grades 6-8. 

  • Assist in facilitating building and district ACP committee meetings.

  • Culminate and deliver an annual report highlighting ACP efforts to the Board of Education annually.

  • Assist students with job-related information including:

    • searching for employment;

    • supporting application completion;

    • teaching how to create a resume;

    • reviewing/editing student resumes;

    • providing mock interviews;

    • assist students with setting up job shadowing opportunities;

    • engaging in career conversations.

  • Assist students with post-secondary preparation including:

    • utilizing Xello to aid in post-graduation planning and preparation;

    • scheduling and promoting college and military representative visits;

    • FAFSA outreach;

      • Facilitate and host “ 2 for 1 Night” events - 1 during each fall and spring.

  • Enhance knowledge for students and parents of all options available after high school: apprenticeship, full-time employment, military, and post-secondary education through programming, marketing materials, and communication pieces.

  • Maintain and update ACP and volunteer presence on social media and monthly newsletters.

  • Develop and host activities and events in LHS’s ACP Center while fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment to engage with students while using a variety of  ACP resources.

  • Work towards organizing and managing the periodic Career Cluster Industry Representative Visits.

  • Assist in Youth Apprenticeship and school-to-career programming.

  • Serve and participate as LHS representative on United Way’s Youth Success Coalition.

  • Create, collect, and analyze data from student and staff surveys pertaining to ACP.

  • Organize Fall Career Day and Spring Senior Reality Check.

  • Assist with and support Program Showcase and Spring Teen Job Fair.

  • Coordinate and manage a graduate summer texting program such as “RaiderAid.”

  • Develop a system for coordinating data and working with the Student Database Manager to submit and receive annual post-secondary enrollment reports.

  • Plan and promote school-sponsored student college visits.

  • Promote a positive working relationship with the Student Services Department.

  • Perform other College and Career Readiness duties as assigned by the administration.

  • Coordinate Volunteer Program and serve as a community resource person for LHS staff/students.

  • Includes communicating with non-profits, posting opportunities, keeping track of student volunteer hours, producing annual end of the year report for graduation, directing students during their homeroom, maintaining all program records, assisting students in their search for special opportunities, presenting the program to all freshman students annually, and working with nonprofits to promote their opportunities to students which should include occasional volunteer fairs.

  • Coordinates mentor volunteer program in partnership with WRPS elementary schools.

  • Work with United Way by attending events such as Stuff the Bus and serving on the Youth Coalition.

  • Assist LHS student clubs and/or advisors in their search for community events or outreach projects.

    • Holiday Assistance program – Promote donations through homerooms to encourage giving by students and staff. Responsible for all donations, activity accounts, and purchasing gifts, gift cards, etc. (along with student volunteers.)

  • Work with school administration to coordinate Senior Class Project.

  • Coordinate Teen Leadership program for Lincoln participants.

  • Serve as support and backup for the nursing office.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education and Experience:

    • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent and one-to-three years’ previous experience working with youth and/or employment recruitment. Prior experience working with youth is highly desired.

    • Preference is given to those with a college bachelor’s degree.

  • Knowledge of:

    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Google Docs, Adobe Publisher, Canva, and Adobe InDesign Software desirable.

    • Strong working knowledge of Xello.

  • Ability to:

    • Handle confidential information.

    • Prioritize work.

    • Communicate effectively in oral and written form and possess the ability to work well with students, parents, the public, and district staff.

    • Demonstrate such alternatives to the above qualifications as the district may find appropriate and acceptable.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • The physical requirements indicated below are examples of the physical aspects that this position classification must perform in carrying out essential job functions.

  • Persons performing service in this position classification will exert ten (10) to twenty (20) pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. This type of work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.

  • Perceiving the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral information, the manual dexterity to operate business-related equipment, and handling and working with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.
