Howards Grove High School is looking to hire a Forensics Coach for the 2025-2026 school year. This position involves preparing interested high school students for Forensic participation and competition. The season begins in January.

Jon Hess and Angie Houston shall act as the compliance officers whose responsibility it will be to ensure that Federal and State regulations are complied with and that any inquiries or complaints regarding discrimination or equal access are dealt with promptly in accordance with law. They shall also ensure that proper notice of nondiscrimination for Title II, Title VI, and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendment Act of 1972, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, is provided to students, their parents, staff members, and the general public.

Prior experience in competitive speech and debate, either as a participant or coach.
Strong communication, public speaking, and organizational skills.
Plan and conduct regular practices focusing on research, argumentation, delivery, and performance skills.
Provide individualized coaching to help students prepare pieces, cases, and speeches.
Knowledge of the rules and regulations of the Wisconsin High School Forensics Association and the Wisconsin Forensics Coaches’ Association
Knowledge of tournament procedures, rules, and judging standards across various forensic events (e.g., debate, interpretation, extemporaneous speaking).
Willingness to travel with students to weekend and evening competitions.
Ability to foster a positive, inclusive team culture that emphasizes academic growth, sportsmanship, and personal development.Candidate Requirements
