Job Goal: Pulaski Early Education Partnership is an inclusive program for students to attend 1 year before they attend kindergarten. Students range in age from 4 to 6 years. Paraprofessional will work under direction and supervision of certified staff, provide assistance to all children including those who have designated emotional, social, behavioral, self-help, physical, and academic needs throughout the whole school day. Emotional and behavioral issues may include, but not limited to: biting, hitting, pinching, kicking, screaming, scratching, running, and other aggressive outbursts. Self-help may include instruction on how to blow nose, wipe face, wash hands, and wipe bottom, shoes on and off, and pants up and down. Paraprofessional will work closely with students with disabilities and without disabilities on a regular basis in an effort to provide them with effective learning experiences. This position is Monday through Thursday, 8:15am to 4pm
Occasional Fridays are also required to meet the number of days/hours needed.

Assist students, either individually or within group, including students without
disabilities, to acquire or reinforce learning concepts
Implement strategies and methods as identified in students' individual education plan which may include behavioral interventions as directed
Assist teacher and therapists in helping students to reach the goals/objectives in the students' individual education plans, including speech/language, occupational, and physical therapy throughout the child’s school day
Knowledge of sensory techniques and ability to perform these techniques as directed by teacher and therapists
Training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and Autism—children in Early Childhood frequently bite, kick, hit, pinch, pull hair and run out of the room or run in school environment
Training on child specific therapeutic devices such as, Picture Exchange Communication System, visual schedules, switches, basic sign language, walkers, standers, wheelchairs
Lift students in and out of car seats, buckle/unbuckle students from car seats and help them off of the bus
Provide assistance with and instruction on toileting, hygiene, and eating habits, including oral feeding if necessary, as directed
Diapering: Will be required to lift child to diaper changing table and clean up child, wet or soiled clothing
Toilet training: Assist student on/off toilet, assist/instruct student to wipe, and assist with completion of toilet routine. May need to clean up child and wet or soiled clothing
Assist with health care needs of students including administration of medication, and performance of assigned medical procedures under direction and training of school nurse
Must be able to swim and assist students in the water as needed at the monthly swim time. Assist in instruction of dressing and undressing skills and bathing during the swim time
Assist teacher in responding to parent/guardian requests regarding student progress
Assist teacher with evaluation and assessment of student progress
Assist teacher and therapists in preparing teaching aids such as visual schedules, Boardmaker pictures, social stories, and behavior charts
Assist in the storage and maintenance of classroom equipment and supplies (e.g. art materials, games) and keep order in storage areas
Maintain order in the classroom, school, or on school grounds
Completes arrangements for field trips including coordinating times, dates, and buses, and determine cost of trip, organizes permission slips, and collects and records money. Provide supervision during field trips
Collect money and maintain records for milk fees, lunch fees, field trips, book orders, and other programs as assigned
Assist in maintaining a positive working environment and learning climate
Perform clerical tasks to include typing/word processing, making Boardmaker pictures, writing social stories, laminating, collating, and/or filing
Provide supervision of students in various locations and situations, including playground, lunchroom, hallways and classrooms
Prepare materials for learning activities and projects
