We are seeking a qualified and passionate kindergarten teacher to join our team. Ideal candidates will have the ability to create a positive classroom environment while working collaboratively with colleagues to support all learners.
 

TEACHER POSITION DESCRIPTION


Job Goal:  To implement an approved educational program and establish a classroom environment that is consistent with our District Philosophy, fosters integrated learning, thinking, cooperation, and personal and social growth.  To ensure that students are the nucleus of the school system and our educational decisions are guided by what we consider to be best for students so that they are given every reasonable opportunity to realize their best selves.


Qualifications: 

  1. A current teaching license

  2. Knowledge of effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate classroom activities

  3. The ability to maintain a positive learning environment

  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  5. Current First Aid/CPR certified or must obtain

  6. Demonstrated ability to:

  1. work collaboratively

  2. carry out emergency/crisis response procedures 

  3. perform all computer technology tasks associated with the position

  4. maintain confidentiality

  5. communicate positively/effectively with students, parents, staff,  patrons

  1. Commitment to the Pulaski Board of Education Educational Philosophy

  2. Demonstrated skills in positive human relations and cultural competence

  3. Demonstrated skills in problem solving and conflict management

Reports To:  Principal of the assigned building


Supervises:    Students, student teachers, and assigned aides


Terms of Employment:  Number of work days and hours is determined for specific assignments by the designated administrator(s). Benefits and salary per the appropriate negotiated agreement and/or contract with the designated administrator(s) and the Board of Education.



Evaluation:

Annual evaluation to be completed by an administrator and/or designee based on current district practice.
