Teacher Contract (191 Days)
Full Time
The School District of Whitefish Bay is looking for a full-time Band Teacher to begin in the 2025-2026 school year at Whitefish Bay Middle School (85% - 6th Grade Band and 7th Grade Band) and at Cumberland & Richards Elementary Schools (15% - 5th Grade Beginning Band). The community of Whitefish Bay values music education and holds high expectations for its students and staff. We strive to strengthen and cultivate the skills of our young musicians, so we seek candidates with the training, education, and experience in instrumental/band music to take our students to the next level. Candidates should have a proven track record of instrumental/band direction for young and developing groups, as well as demonstrable musicianship themselves.

Teaching at WFBMS and the elementary schools is about more than just the music. Candidates should have a desire to work closely with the K-12 music staff to build a cohesive program across grades K-12.

Opportunities for leadership are prevalent throughout the building and district. Potential candidates should be interested in expanding their influence beyond the walls of their classroom.

The School District of Whitefish Bay believes that Wisconsin’s Guiding Principles for Teaching and Learning ensures each student is provided with an “exceptional place to learn.”
1. Every student has the right to learn.
2. Instruction must be rigorous and relevant.
3. Purposeful assessment drives instruction and affects learning.
4. Learning is a collaborative responsibility.
5. Students bring strengths and experiences to learning.
6. Responsive environments engage learners.

Potential team members should have an unwavering commitment to growing diverse learners and be able to build classroom environments where all students assume the responsibility and ownership in their learning through setting goals, reflection, and self-assessment. Professional learning is a priority in our District, so team members must have a desire to be a creative and active professional who grows and implements a variety of instructional practices and innovative programming. We are a strong community of learners and are excited to bring a new member onto our team.

The successful candidate will hold or be eligible for valid Wisconsin DPI certification. Questions about the position should be directed to Geoff Pontus, Whitefish Bay Middle School Principal, via email: geoffrey.pontus@wfbschools.com.

The School District of Whitefish Bay is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Applicants that would contribute to a diverse educational community are strongly encouraged to apply.
