Whitnall is a unique school district that is proud to serve approximately 2,500 students in the Village of Hales Corners, part of the City of Greenfield, and part of the City of Franklin.
 
The Whitnall Varsity Dance Program is looking for a passionate and dedicated Assistant Varsity Dance Coach to support both our Game Day and Competition Teams during the 2025–2026 season. This position is perfect for an individual who brings energy, creativity, leadership, and a strong passion for dance and mentoring student-athletes. As part of our vibrant and dynamic program, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with talented dancers and a dedicated coaching staff to help shape the future of our dance teams.

Our program consists of two exciting teams:

  • Game Day Team (July–December): Performs at football, basketball, and soccer games, pep rallies, and other school-wide events to foster school spirit and community pride.

  • Competition Team (June–February): A high-performance team focusing on Pom, Jazz, and Hip-Hop, competing in local, regional, state, and national competitions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Coach in planning and leading practices, performances, and events for both teams.

  • Provide instruction in dance technique, choreography, and performance enhancement.

  • Help prepare dancers for competitions by cleaning routines and managing logistics.

  • Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and respectful team environment.

  • Attend and assist with major events, including:

    • Varsity Dance Clinic & Tryouts: May 27–31, 2025

    • Fundraising Events: Brat Sales, Car Wash Fundraisers, SuperFan Shirt Sales, Concessions, Friends & Family State Showcase, Little Falcon Dancer Clinics, etc.

    • UDA Camp: July 7–10, 2025 (Wisconsin Dells)

    • Friends & Family Picnic and Showcase: A fall event to celebrate the team’s summer accomplishments and build connections within the dance community.

    • Homecoming Week: Pep Rally, Parade, and Homecoming Football Game

    • Football, Basketball & Soccer Games: Scheduled performances throughout the season

    • Competitions (Nov–Feb):

      • Franklin Invitational – November 1, 2025

      • Ashwaubenon Invitational – December 6, 2025

      • Little Chute Invitational – December 13, 2025

      • Badgerette State or New Berlin West – January 3, 2026

      • Kaukauna Invitational – January 17, 2026

      • WACPC Regionals – January 24, 2026

      • WACPC State Championships – February 6–7, 2026

      • Nationals – Date TBD

    • Other Events: Volunteering, Team Banquet, and more.

  • Assist with administrative tasks including budgeting, team communication, apparel orders, fundraising coordination, and social media updates.

  • Fostering team bonding, individual growth, and academic accountability throughout the season.

  • Choreography experience (ability to create and clean routines)

  • Ability to work well with high school and middle school age groups

  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the Head Coach, school staff, athletes, and families

  • Availability for evening and weekend practices and performances

  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willing to obtain)

  • Background check required
