The Sauk Prairie School District is pleased to announce an extraordinary opportunity for a 1.0 FTE English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher beginning with the 2025-2026 school year at Bridges Elementary School. The Sauk Prairie School District is seeking candidates who desire to join a dedicated and committed team of educators and community members focused on improving instruction, learning, and caring for our youngest students. The ideal candidate is a passionate teacher and gifted communicator with excellent organizational skills who has the desire to develop positive relationships with all stakeholders.
This position has the potential to serve students in grades kindergarten through grade two at Bridges Elementary School.
Qualifications: SPSD is seeking a highly qualified educator who is a gifted communicator and is committed to collaborating with colleagues to improve instruction, learning, and caring for all students. Primary responsibilities include teaching language and content in both small-group and whole-group settings. Candidates must hold or be working to obtain appropriate licensure. Bilingual Spanish/English candidates are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will bring the following qualities and attributes:
- An understanding of how to implement CCSS through a student-centered, collaborative environment
- A willingness to teach both whole group lessons as well as small group, targeted instruction.
- An inclusive philosophy that embraces 21st century skills with the ability to communicate with all stakeholders and a dedication to building lasting relationships with students, staff, families, and the community.
- An understanding of current best practices for working with ELLs, including how to teach language in the context of the content being taught.
- Proficiency with using culturally relevant practices.
- Support all students through differentiated instruction.
- Contribute to RtI time by meeting regularly with staff.
- Trust builder with students, staff, parents, and the community.
- Currently, or able to be, licensed by Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction with an ESL License 1395 with preference given to those who also hold the Bilingual/Bicultural Education License 1023. Preferred candidates would also hold a Regular Education License 1777.

District Description: The district includes Sauk City and Prairie du Sac, two “next door” villages known as Sauk Prairie. They are located on the beautiful Wisconsin River. Thirteen towns and the village of Merrimac are also in the district. The area features rolling hills, meadows, bluffs, forests, lakes and streams. The district offers small-town, rural living with easy access to the Madison urban area (25 miles) and to the Wisconsin Dells recreation area (28 miles). The district serves 2,800 students, and comprises six learning communities with a high school of 850 students, middle school of 600 students and four elementary schools of 1,350 students.
