John Long Middle School is seeking a Part-Time Special Education Aide for the 2024-25 school year. This position reports on a student-day calendar with time off from early-June through August. We are looking for a positive, energetic, compassionate, and dedicated individual to join our Special Education team.

 

The position will have a range of responsibilities working with students with special needs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting students with academic and behavioral support, assisting personal hygiene care, helping with recess and lunch, eating, feeding, dressing, toileting and other basic care skills and tasks as necessary, assisting teachers in reinforcing skills as demonstrated by physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech/language therapist, escorting to and from buses, assisting with any special medical needs, and providing documentation of completion. Specialized and ongoing training is provided by the district.

The John Long Middle School Special Education Team is composed of four experienced Special Education Teachers and seven highly skilled paraprofessionals. JLMS is a middle school serving approximately 450 students and is part of the highly regarded Grafton School District. The Grafton School District ranks #14 out of 383 K4-12 districts in the state and was named a Top Workplace by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for 2023 and 2024.

Eligibility for WI DPI license #0070

A Bachelor or Associates Degree is preferred, but we will accept 48 credits from an accredited higher educational institution. If you do not meet this criteria, an approved DPI skill based test will be administered to meet the title requirements.
