The School District of La Crosse is accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE Community Impact Coordinator.
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVES:
The Community Impact Coordinator will coordinate transformational community impact efforts in targeted neighborhoods. Based on the priorities identified in the community needs assessments, this position will work with residents and community stakeholders to improve youth, family and community outcomes by creating and implementing strategies that address the root causes of neighborhood challenges. This position will be responsible for coordinating the needs and assets assessment, facilitating strategy meetings with stakeholders, and coordinating various communications and activities within the neighborhoods.
POSITION CHARACTERISTICS:
Recruited by: Director of Human Resources
Salary: Set annually by the Board of Education
Length of Contract: Non-union, Full-time, Exempt
POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Director of Community Services
Coordinates with: Community Services Coordinator, Principals, Student Services staff, identified community partners, families, staff, and students.
Supervises directly: Community volunteers
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Community Needs and Assets Assessment
a. Work with district staff and community stakeholders to complete community needs and assets assessments, as needed.
b. Organize, analyze and synthesize assessment outcomes with residents and stakeholders.
c. Investigate and identify suspected or known root causes of neighborhood challenges.
2. Neighborhood Project Management
a. Coordinate scheduling and attend school-community project meetings
b. Assist with agenda planning and maintain meeting minutes and action planning records
c. Assist with project planning, communication, coordination, action planning work, and project implementation
3. Project Evaluation
a. Identify and define shared measures of impact with residents and project stakeholders
b. Regularly coordinate, collect and disseminate project data to residents and stakeholders
4. Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Required experience and training:
a. Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with a preference in Public Health and Community Health Education, Education, Social Work, Counseling, or related fields.
2. Preferred experience and training:
a. Knowledge of community planning, community health outcomes and community needs and asset assessment.
b. Successful experience collecting, analyzing, and disseminating data to various stakeholders.
c. Successful experience planning and presenting information or facilitating training to varied audiences.
d. Knowledge of resources available to families within the community.
e. Knowledge of after school programming and services for youth.
f. Successful experience developing and implementing programs or services to address community needs.
g. Successful experience planning events and programs based off of the needs identified by residents and other stakeholders.
3. Special requirements for the position:
a. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
b. Ability to keep accurate records and prepare reports.
c. Available to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings as directed by the Director of Community Services
d. Valid driver’s license and access to an automobile on a regular basis.
e. Self-motivated and self-directed.
f. Positive and collaborative disposition.
