We are seeking a passionate and dedicated instrumental/general music teacher to join our dynamic district music department.  This position will be assigned specifically as an integral part of our middle school music team.  The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of music theory, instrumental techniques, and vocal techniques.  This position involves teaching both instrumental and general music at the middle school level, where the teacher will play an essential role in the district's music department. The teacher will be responsible for delivering lessons in music theory, instrumental techniques, and vocal training. Instruction will cover various instruments, including piano, guitar, woodwinds, brass, and percussion, along with vocal exercises and ensemble singing.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that cater to a diverse range of students, incorporating both instrumental and vocal elements.
  • Provide instruction in music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and performance techniques for various instruments, including but not limited to, piano, guitar, woodwinds, brass, and percussion.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore their musical talents and express themselves creatively.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed.
  • Incorporate vocal training exercises, repertoire selection, and ensemble singing activities into general music classes to enhance students' vocal skills and musical understanding.
  • Organize and direct performances, recitals, and concerts to showcase students' musical accomplishments and foster a sense of community within the school.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support the overall goals and objectives of the music program.
  • Stay informed about current trends and developments in music education, attending workshops, conferences, and professional development opportunities as needed.
